IN DEFENSE OF ARGENTINE SOVEREIGNTY

The Network of Intellectuals, Artists and Social Movements in Defense of Humanity denounces the campaign of destabilization of the international hegemonic media together with the forces of the national right wing against the legitimate government of President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner after the death of the prosecutor Alberto Nisman that Argentine justice investigates. This campaign goes hand in hand with the attack against national sovereignty by the vulture funds and is part of Washington’s offensive against progressive governments of Latin America and the Caribbean.

We take on actions against manipulations of the concentrated press, the media whose visible heads are the daily La Nacion and the Clarin group that have intended to make the Executive responsible for the alleged assassination of the prosecutor that had accused the government of designing a plan to cover up responsibility that could be linked to Iran in the criminal attacks in Buenos Aires against the Embassy of Israel in 1991 and the Mutual Israeli Argentine Association (AMIA) in 1994.

We also assume the declarations of well known jurists such as doctors Eugenio Zaffaroni and Julio Maier, the official position of the Argentine Association of Jurists as well as the higher authorities of INTERPOL and specialized press that have demonstrated that the charges made by Nisman did not have the minimum necessary proof to be accepted in the judicial headquarters. This has been repeatedly demonstrated recently by two judges of the federal justice. The ‘Criminal Plan” denounced by the prosecutor is merely the law voted on by both Chambers in the Nation’s Congress: “Memorandum of Understanding with Iran” designed to overcome the impasse in the cause of AMIA that has been bogged down for twenty years.

On the other hand, as certainly proven in the news casts declassified by WikiLeaks, the submission of Prosecutor Nisman to the guidelines of the United States Embassy in Argentina, the CIA and Mossad places a heavy mantle of suspicion on the independence of certain international groups of power and suitability of an investigation made under such influences.

The absence of a necessary solidity to demand the questioning of a Head of State – with all the institutional gravity that such an accusation implies – as well as the sordid internal clash in the recently dissolved Secretary of Intelligence of Argentina (replaced as announced by the President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner in a speech on January 26 by a renovated Federal Agency of Intelligence) by which recently dismissed persons of the YES intend to erode the figure of the president and intends to damage the possibility of the kirchnerism candidate in the next presidential election. With this it intends to prevent the continuation of social policies and national sovereignty conditioning it to unscrupulous judicial institutions and the will of the media corporation that with their immense manipulative power constantly bombard public opinion.

The Network in Defense of Humanity, made up by thousands of intellectuals, artists, scientist, activist and social fighters around the world calls to be watchful of the development of the plan of destabilization against Argentina. It was this country that in 2005 the Free Trade Agreement of the Americas (FTAA) was buried and it became a determinant in the process of unity and integration of the Large Homeland.
