The Mexico chapter of the Network in Defense of Humanity declares its total solidarity with the people and government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela against the serious crisis caused by attacks of the Colombian paramilitary against the Bolivarian armed forces along the border between both countries.
In use of his constitutional faculties, President Nicolas Maduro decreed a state of emergency in several border States to defend national sovereignty seriously threatened by paramilitary groups in complicity with organized crime in activities of contraband of products subsidized by the Venezuelan government such as gasoline, medicines and articles of basic foods for their illegal sale in Colombia. At the same time they conspire to increase delinquent violence against society and, especially, against Bolivarian agents of security ad officials in proven complicity with the anti Chavist opposition.
Again the Colombian government is prepared to attack the Venezuelan revolution in coordination with counterrevolutionary strategies of the government of the United States that has increased the siege of its military bases and clandestine use of its special forces including paramilitary forces against the constitutional government of Venezuela.
We condemn the media campaign against President Maduro, orchestrated continentally by the right wing of our countries and based on an alleged defense of human rights of Colombians in Venezuela. They ignore the fact that more than five million persons of Colombian origin have been accepted by Venezuela and who live and work legally in this country. Many have benefited by the social conquests of the Bolivarian and Chavist revolution
