The Network of Intellectuals, Artists and Social Movements in Defense of Humanity, extends its broadest solidarity with the Revolution and government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela as well as its reiterated support of Venezuelan democracy and its institutions against the renewed imperialist and counterrevolutionary onslaught.
We denounce and condemn the media campaign against the government of the constitutional president Nicolás Maduro by known personages at the service of the Empire such as Felipe González, José María Aznar and
Felipe Calderón. We join in the rejection that president Maduro has made over the recent declarations of General John Kelly, head of the Southern Command as interference and falsity in its contents.
The electoral system of Venezuela has been recognized as the most advanced in the world by several intuitions such as the Carter Center and will be demonstrated in the coming legislative elections on December 6. We are confident that the brave people of Venezuela will endorse its commitment with the Bolivarian Revolution as its principal protagonist. The United States has no moral authority to criticize attack or threaten a nation that has decided to be free and sovereign.
