Declaration of the Peruvian Network in Defense of Humanity on statements against Venezuela
The Network of Intellectuals and Artists in Defense of Humanity, Peruvian chapter, in face of the condemnable disproportionate economic and political actions of the recently elected president of the Argentine republic, Mauricio Macri, who in his first press conference yesterday, Monday 23 of November, announced that as soon as he takes his post on December 10 he is going to propose the expulsion of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela from Mercosur. In this manner he unleashed the neo liberal mirage of this measure that seems inspired and designed by the administration of the United States of America, a measure strongly rejected by the Network. A few hours after his election the ambassador of that country accredited in Argentina, Noah Mamet publicly congratulated him and wished him success as president.
These actions undoubtedly are a bad sign for the peoples of Our America. Equally, we condemn the editorial “No more vengeance” published a few hours ago in La Nacion in Buenos Aires. Adolfo Pérez Esquivel, Nobel Peace Laureate declared “it is an offense to the people of Argentina and victims of state terrorism”.
All our solidarity for the victims of the sinister “Plan Condor” who are now sheltered by this new anti popular government that will try to interrupt a just process of trials for crimes of genocide during the last years of the military dictatorship and its trail of death and destruction.
