Today, January 4 of 2016 the Movimiento Al Socialismo (MAS) party retakes a campaign for a YES for the reelection of President Evo Morales in the referendum on his reelection on February 21, Prensa Latina reported.
The retaking campaign takes off this Monday in the capital municipalities and on January 9 throughout the country.
Last December 14 members of Bolivian social movements, mayors and MAS authorities began a strategy named Mobilization for Land to explain to the population what is the basis for a campaign for Yes to reform the constitution and allow President Morales to contend in the elections of 2019.
On February 21 Bolivians will take part in the referendum to decide if the Political Constitution of the State is partially modified allowing the reelection of the Head of State and vice president Álvaro García Linera.
The proposal to modify the constitution to allow another candidacy for President and Vice President was recently presented by social and native indigenous campesinos represented by the National Coordinator for a change (Conalcam) and the Bolivarian Union Center (COB) before the Plurinational Legislative Assembly.
In December Morales indicated that he would accept a new nomination for president until 2025 to consolidate the social development and large investments in process in this South American nation.
