Economic War against progressive governments

Since 1999 the succession of progressive governments and new left in Latin America opened a new historical cycle in the region. Of course, not all had similar orientations or executed reformist or radical policies capable of setting the road to a post capitalist society.
In any case the governments of Evo Morales in Bolivia, Rafael Correa in Ecuador and Hugo Chávez/Nicolás Maduro in Venezuela were in the vanguard of transformations claiming the States nationalist-popular and anti imperialist and Building “socialism of the 21st century as an alternative to capitalism.
In April of 2002 there was an attempted coup against Hugo Chávez in Venezuela and on September 30 2010 another occured against Rafael Correa. Both failed. But Manuel Zelaya was overthrown by a coup instigated by the Honduran Supreme Court (2009) and Fernando Lugo was ousted by a coup orchestrated by the Paraguayan legislature (2012). However, the triumph of Mauricio Macri to the Argentine presidency (2015) has been considered a warning bell and mark the beginning of the “end” if progressive governments in Latin America.
The warning is valid. After the political peak and even economic rise motivated by high incomes and strong public investments, the progressive governments and new left face an onslaught by their most powerful enemies: the wealthy business class and elites (bourgeois), imperialism and the mass media identified with those interests.
The climate for a conservative restoration became favorable as of 2013-2014 and as the economic difficulties became evident in 2015 the “crisis” was evident. Those governments were able to maintain their “model” while the economy offered the state capacity to build a social capitalism (that today represents the conquest) and relative independence against opposition forces.
But the “crisis” began to affect the economic and social promoting State in such a way that in face of this situation and economic war began against the internal bourgeoisie, supported by imperialism, Add to this mix the political war of the opposition and the private mass media in a Daily ideological camp.
The dilemma of the Latin American governments above mentioned is, consequently, how to confront the adverse situation without ceding to the bourgeoisie, even because they have not developed either a theory or economic policy to handle the crisis precisely from a perspective of the new left. It is easy to understand public expenditures can be restricted without limiting social investments. However it is suicidal to cede to the demands of the private sector that has begun in Ecuador, begins using boycotts, restrictions of credits, paralyzation of investments, etc. as a reproduction of this type of economic war already unleashed in Venezuela.
