Summit of Discord and Grave of the OAS

Far from achieving with its “Carrot and Stick” policy of aiming to dominate Latin America and at the same time to give the image of “Washington as The Redeeming God”, the United States may come out humiliated and with lowered head in the coming Summit of the Americas this April in Panama.
Political experts already assure that if the US administration of President Barack Obama does not change its position towards the Large Homeland, the meeting in Panama of the Organization of American States (OAS) will go down in history as the “Summit of discord” and the definitive grave of that old and controversial institution “Made in the USA”.
Bolivian president Evo Morales warned that before this summit Obama should ask Venezuela forgiveness for its recent and dangerous threats against the homeland of Hugo Chávez and government of Nicolás Maduro.
Morales also demanded of the current occupant of the White House to lift the failed and illegal blockage imposed against Cuba for more than five decades before the OAS summit.
The Bolivian leader also demanded that the Pentagon withdraw its military bases in has in Latin America such as Peru and Colombia and other Central American states that constitute a threat to peace in the region.
For its part UNASUR (Union of Nations of the South) in its extraordinary meeting of Foreign Affairs ministers held this Saturday in Quito, Ecuador, requested the United States repeal the Decree made by Obama which considers Venezuela as an “extraordinary and unusual threat” to its national security.
This determination of the head of the White House has unleashed a wave or rejection in the world, in general, and in the Large Homeland, particularly that can become a real tsunami for the Panama Summit and especially for the US delegation.
Few options has Washington to temper the spirits of most of the governments of Latin America and especially the progressive ones who have qualified the Obama Decree against Venezuela as a threat of war and as an outrageous interference in affairs of the region.
The US administration has a little less than a month to adopt another position and step applying pressure to any weak head of state to prevent Obama from receiving a beating in the Panama meeting.
Either Washington withdraws its aggressive conduct or the Summit of the Americas can go to hell, as Chávez as we are attending the mourning for some time now.
