Military Against Inmigrants: Rick Perry announced the deployment of soldiers to the boarder with Mexico.

Texas governor, Rick Perry announced the deployment of a thousand soldiers of the National Guard to the border with Mexico as of next month to contain the flow of illegal migrants in the midst of an unbelievable flow of Mexican and Central American minors trying to cross the border alone to the United States and without the corresponding documents.

The governor, who hopes to be the presidential candidate for the Republican Party in the elections of 2016, denied that this measure implies a militarization of the border with Mexico. For his part, the military administrative head of Texas, John Nichols said that the troops will only try to dissuade immigrants.

Although the National Guard is a body formed by volunteers under the command of the state governors it is, in fact, a military organization with sea, land and air means. Several have been sent to wars, such as Iraq. One of the significant differences of this group with other armed forces groups – army, navy or air force – is that these latter are forbidden to use weapons to uphold the law in U.S. territory while the National Guard is authorized to shoot inside the country. Therefore it would be an excess of naiveté to believe the affirmation that these deployed will only be limited to dissuade illegal migrants and it is reprehensible that the Texas government aims to minimize the reach of its own decision and hide the truth from public opinion about the seriousness such a measure implies; pure and simply the militarization of the border.
Quite the contrary. The determination of Perry is a new turn of the screw in the policy of criminalization and persecution of migrants by the authorities of the neighboring country: the deployment of the National Guard against those who cross the Texas border in search of a better life and have to confront not only the dangers of the natural environment, of the traffickers of persons, the abuses of police corporation on either side of the border and the sadism of racist civilian groups dedicated to the capture of human beings: now they will also have to deal with military forces trained for war and for the physical annihilation of the adversary. From softening the dramatic situation confronted by thousands of illegal migrants, this will become more uncertain and dangerous.

Far from ignoring that the determination political the Republicans use to attack the government of Barack Obama and even Perry has demonstrated xenophobic and intolerant attitudes the main responsibility of the circumstances of the migrants – mostly children – suffered in their country corresponds to the U.S. president. Consequently, about two years are left of his second presidential period.

Obama has been unable to fulfill his main campaign offers: a migratory reform; he has done nothing to minimize the ill treatment and persecution suffered by those illegal citizens in this territory. Quite the contrary, this tendency has worsened and the deportation of more migrants than any other U.S. president.

The so called human crisis that the migratory phenomenon has become in the United States would be such if the political class of Washington, beginning with its own president, assumes once and for all that there no simpler, constructive and congruent solution and de penalizing migrants. By now, however, and for all practical purposes this phenomenon is against all logic and most elemental humanitarian principles.
