Five great revolutions to consolidate re-foundation of the Bolivarian Government
Source AVN
The Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, announced Tuesday that five great revolutions will consolidate re-foundation and new phases called revolutions of the Bolivarian Government: the first one is economy, to diversify the productive apparatus; the second phase is knowledge, science, culture and technology; the third comprises the deepening of social missions; the fourth covers the state political revolution, while the fifth revolution consists of the construction of socialism, through consolidation of the communal model.
In national radio and television hookup, Maduro said that in general, these revolutions seek to renew the working methods of the government to consolidate national stability, prosperity and victory of peace.
Therefore, in order to secure the welfare of the national people and continue the social transformation of the country, he announced during his speech the merger of ministries, appointment of new ministers and confirmation of other members of the executive cabinet.
Likewise, he announced economic measures, called to complete works that are underway, reorganized duties of Vice presidencies and created two new ones: Planning and Knowledge, and Security and Food Sovereignty, as well as the creation of the National Authority of Procedures and Permits.
Five revolutions
The economic revolution, said Maduro, seeks to transform Venezuela into a productive power, enhancing the development of diversified, advanced and harmonious economy with the ability to meet the material needs of the country.
The second revolution, the president said, will be knowledge, science, culture and technology, covering and merging the different dimensions of the country's overall development.
The third revolution concerns the deepening of social missions, that are underway and follow the legacy of Commander Hugo Chavez.
As for the fourth phase, Maduro said it has to do with the revolution of state policy, which will continue to give power to the people, based on the participatory and protagonist democracy, ensuring social justice and the rule of law.
Finally, he said that the fifth revolution will be the territorial socialism, which involves the reorganization and consolidation of the communal model of coexistence for the development of life and eco-socialist model "that can group the challenges that Commander (Chavez) laid out in the goal of preserving the planet."
Reducing poverty and unemployment
President Maduro underscored the exponential leap in social gains that the country has experienced since the beginning of the Bolivarian Revolution in 1999, under the leadership of Commander Hugo Chavez.
In that regard, he stressed that the success of the socialist model being built in Venezuela is evident in socio-economic indicators such as the reduction of poverty and unemployment.
The president reported that figures from the National Institute of Statistics reveal that at the end of June 2014 the unemployment rate stood at 6.8% which is the lowest of the last 30 years. By 1998, it was 25%.
He said that the quality of formal employment remains at 60% while the informal at 40%, which is proof of the governments' willingness to "provide stability and security to workers."
"Unemployment has visibly been declining even in difficult years like 2013 and 2014," when the right-wing unleashed the economic war "to affect macroeconomic variables and indicators, through mechanisms such as smuggling, hoarding and speculation," he said.
Furthermore, the head of state stressed that during the first 10 years under Chavez socialist government, people's power was consolidated and the new socioeconomic model of equality and justice was born to combat extreme poverty.
He noted that Chavez blazed a trail for the pacification of the country, following the violence, repression and poverty that characterized the decade of the 80s and 90s, under the previous governments.
He also highlighted the creation of the great social missions to progressively eradicate extreme poverty, whose high levels (21%) left by the governments of the Fourth Republic, have dropped to 5.5%, during the 15 years the Bolivarian revolution.
