Declaration in defense of the Mexican people. Network in Defense of Humanity
I only look and remember my friends
Will they not return,
Will they not again live on the earth?
We only die once here
In this earth.
Oh, Giver of life,
Let not the heart suffer of those around you!
(Nezáhualcoyotl. Tlamatinime Azteca.
On September 26 the claws of terrorism clutched the young vitality of new generations that fought against the general condition of deterioration of the Mexican society. The murder of 6 students in the State of Guerrero and the disappearance of 43 more sparked the indignation of all those who suffer any injustice, wherever it is committed and that will not rest in the construction of a new world is possible, more just and increasingly more necessary.
In face of these events the Network in Defense of Humanity has been observing with deep pain the existing impunity as well as the complicity of the Mexican State in face of the terrible scourge of drug trafficking and paramilitarism. These events are the expression of a permanent state of war that has been happening in this large country of Central America, revealing the strong relationship between neo liberalism; the imperialist penetration of the Plan Mérida; state terrorism and progressive dismantling of the institutions that must be a safeguard of the peoples.
We recognize and add our voices to all those who, from Mexico, raise their voices bravely giving testimonies and demanding clarification and justice against the atrocity committed.
We join the international event called by the Coordination in Solidarity of the Students of Ayotzinapa and demand a clear and immediate answer regarding the disappearance of the 43 students and punishment of the guilty.
We call on the international revolutionary solidarity of the peoples of the world, the governments of Latin America and the Caribbean and the supranational organizations of the continent to hear the demands of justice of our brothers and sisters of Mexico.
We denounce the military escalation being imposed by the United States against our country with the pretext of “aid” against terrorism; this is merely a façade for direct intervention, the colonization of our territories and dismemberment of our societies.
